Hey all,

After always carrying a cell phone(and being disappointed with lack of service in the mountains) for emergencies and summit hello calls I recently got my Ham radio license.

I'm curious what most climbers choose for emergency comms and how many Ham operators there are in the climbing world.

The responses will depend on location. The cliffy side of the mountains I most often climb are alongside a large city. Cell coverage is pretty good.
