I prefer a competent belayer, regardless of undercarriage. The only times I've decked, I was belayed by a man. And every time I've come close with a female belayer, the belayer did their damndest to keep me off the ground, regardless.

lol that pic totally demonstrates why having a man belay is better than a woman...in the pic the woman as staring off at the "zomg hawt guys!" instead of watching her climber...
I've had a girl take a swing into thorn bushes and a buddy take a thump on a gigantic fallen tree on a trad lead. Climb with people who aren't going to spook and drop the rope at the first sign of a broken nail (men included), and you won't have a problem.
I dunno any man with long nails to worry about. Except maybe a nail on a pinky cuz of habits. But that usually stays out the way.
Believe me, they're out there. The kind that will spaz out if they forget their toothbrush for a weekend trip or that can't stay somewhere without running water.
