I have lately been using a grigri every now and then, and I am getting a new rope. Its a 9.4mm and thought oh well i guess I won't be able to use the grigri with it. Is this true, will it only work with ropes from 10 to 11mm?? Does anyone have experience with using skinny ropes with them?? Yes I know grigris say rope from 10 to 11mm but... P.S. I have only been using my grigri with a 10.3mm rope. Thanks

use on 9.8 pretty regularly with out problem. 9.4???, the diameter is some what random anyway. Some ropes keep their original size others will get a little larger after a few days. just do what you are comfortable with.

I use mine with a 9.7 Beal and a 9.8 Sterling. Feeds a little fast but no issues holding a fall.

I have used a grigri on my 9.5 quite a few times and never had any problems. But again, that was after I had the rope for a while not when it was brand new.
