Hey all,

With some below zero weather happening at the moment up in Montana, I decided to drink a pot of coffee and crank out a new website. I setup a pretty basic design in iWeb on my Mac. This is how it turned out:

http://web.mac.com/..._Home.html/Home.html

The URL is kinda messed up right now and I'm trying to figure out how to change it, so it's not so, how do you say, fucked up? Anyways, any input, props and bashes are more than welcome, so lets see what you got!

Cheers,

Dylan

Looks pretty good to me. One thing I would do is make it so that the photos have descriptions. That would allow the visitors to know what the pictures are about.

But then people could easily print them, and you would not be able to sell the images.

Yeah, I'm conflicted with that decision. I would like to be able to have bigger images, but at the same time I don't want someone to copy and paste them so they can print them out.

Definitely don't do it. Most web sites use flash so that you cannot even view the photos in a different page, so that there is no way at all to print them. as your situation is right now, you can right click the picture and view it in a different page. In that page you can easily print the small version of the picture.

If you post photos on the internet, then they will be copied and added other places. Even with Flash. I used to get kinda bent about it, but lately, have pretty much decided to let any personal use slide. If I find someone is using an image commercially, then they will get sued, but if someone has an image on facebook, or prints a 5 x 7 or something, no worries.

I used iweb fora bit. I creates nice and clean pages, but the code is kinda so-so. Nice for a basic page though! And, if you are using .mac, I think you can just use the publish to .mac option, and it should take care of the extra stuff in the address.

do it.. click, open large image in blank presized window, watermark it heavily. I hadn't though about it, but maybe you can repeat a clear png in a thumb over an image to keep it from getting lifted. Of course, your source code will be exposed unless you use a server side technology such as php and store relative paths to files in a Database.

Remove the made by out of the box software apple advertisement.....

Inlcude terms of use, privacy policy, and all navigation links in footer to increase browsability(mostly a SEO thing) add meta tags, specifically keywords, remove inline style put styles in external css sheet, copyright it.
