this is probably not new but i'm wondering if anyone has tried it.

basically its a freestanding double hangboard with some system holds. the lower board is at about 5 feet, so you have to suck your feet up when they kick off, as you often do bouldering. the upper board is 3-4 feet higher, so you have to lock off low and reach up at full extension.

against the wall there is a piece of plywood (noting drilled to the wall) with smallish feet (jibs, boltheads). you can move the hangboard apparatus close to or away from the footholds; the further away, the more body tension is required.

POSSIBLE MOVEMENTS: (easy to hard)

1)simple hangboard work, with feet pasted on wall at different distances.
2)hangboard work, no feet.
3)feet on, lock off low, reach up high and 'tap' a hold, drop down, repeat.
4)hands matched low, kick feet off, CONTROL SWING, accurately kick feet back on, repeat.
5) as above, but kick feet off and deadpoint to higher board, CONTROL SWING, match high, drop down, kick feet back on, repeat.

anyone tried this?
i want to work core strength and endurance, does this sound useful?

Sorry to bust the inventive bubble but this exact idea was posted in much detail in Erik Horst's book "Flash Training". There are building plans and pictures of it and a few other training devices. On top of that the book has some really sound training ideas,so don't hesitate to pick it up.
