hey everyone. i bought a box of 41 climbing rocks off ebay recently, and want to put them up on a brick wall on my house. is there a way of setting the rocks up you guys would advise me to use? they came with bolts, so i'm assuming all i need to do is drill them in but i've been told that using chem set to glue them on is better for brick walls. anyone done this before or know what to do? thanks

Depends on what you are trying to achieve, Are you going to want to change up the routes? What is the brick wall attached to? Have you thought of making your own wall from 2x4's and sheet ply wood? its not that hard and it allows for the ability to change routes. Epxoy would be better to hold bricks though. Ive never made a wall on bricks though, just experience with bricks.

i don't think i'll worry about changing the wall around. if i want to mix things up i'll probably just buy more rocks and add them. i've never heard of epxoy. i'll look into it.

I meant Epoxy. Ive seen some threads on here with what epoxy they used, but cant remember. any hardware store should have a good selection that will work to my knowledge.

Ah, you sure you want to take on this project? Based off this last comment you are going to f something up. First off you are going to want to constantly change up your wall, especially considering 41 hold isn't really that many. You will likely get board doing a vertical wall, my 2 cents. Second, epoxy...dude, NO. Look at the images posted above this, they are doing it right, they are drilling directly into the brick, NOT the grout. Then placing a concrete anchor. You bolt to this. Fun idea, but in my experience you have to get the bolt length just right going into concrete or brick. This becomes a huge pain. It would be much easier to mount some 2x4s directly to the brick wall using masonry screws. Then putting on 4x8 plywood. I am 100% sure this would be easier and faster. Depending on your kind of brick, actually possible too...some brick is really hard. 41 big holes into brick will use a ton of drill bits, might even blow out your drill unless you have a really nice hammer drill. The plywood could easily be alter to got 10-20 degrees or even set up a variable angled wall.
