I think I'm going to get back into climbing with bouldering. There are a couple of V7s in the Niagra Glen that I'd like to work through. I'd like to be working harder things by the end of the summer, but hey, it's about the climbing, not the grades right? (at least that's what I like to tell myself) I've also been getting into this "trad" thing I've been hearing about lately. I've led about four routes (5s and 6s) and it's been good so far. No gear falls yet, maybe when I get the balls to try something harder. I'm too new at placing gear to be concentrating on grades yet. [ This Message was edited by: kriso9tails on 2001-07-17 22:20 ]

First off, I gotta say, I understand the whole poetry in motion- one with the rock- etc. etc. etc. zen thing, but I just don't feel it. I just climb because it's fun and I'm too young to play golf in good conscience and I don't like skiing. Right now my big thing is regaining all the technique and strenght I've lost due to a slew of injuries. The strenght is easy enough to get back, but I've been having trouble losing the lbs I caught when I couldn't excercise (inactivity makes me eat like a horse) and having trouble regaining the footwork that I got so nicely honed through castle-bouldering in Germany. If anyone has any advice on how to improve footwork without spending money, please message me!

Get a job at a climbing wall! It worked for me the six month's I've worked there I have jumped 2 grades. Plus its always fun to see people flail on something you put up,or watch better climber's than yourself do it in better style. Video assesment helps train technique very well.

Right now I am training like crazy and climbing outside when I feel like it. I have a couple of hard projects in my gym that I'm working and I just got back from a two week vacation to southern Co.

I am currently climbing as often as possible. Right now every other day becuase I'm just getting back into it and need the recovery time but next week I'm heading to Rumney where I hope to send 5.12a. (due to injury I have been off for a while and am currently flailing on 5.11s) When I get back I want to boulder 2 days and do sport routes 3 days a week. As well as finishing my indoor wall w/ hangboard so I can do some home power training. Not sure what I want to work on in the fall yet, but it would be nice to send 5.13

logging all the vertical miles I can. Been outdoors 5 times this year so far, and working full time still. I figure in order to climb harder this year, I'll just climb a shit ton of routes easy / hard / long and short.
