I used to be so naive. I thought that we could have funny trolls and it wouldn't be a big deal. I didn't think that they could get this stupid. I was wrong.

Personally I would just buy them at Home depot, but let's say you specifically want a post for a split rail fence and you want to make it yourself. Get the appropriate log, cut it to length, you can look in civil engineering literature for the appropriate lengths of above ground vs. below ground segments. Then get some splitting wedges. If the log is only big enough for one post, then split the outside edges off by driving the wedges with the back side of an axe to form a square cross section with the remainder. Now you have the basic part of the post. Next you need to get a drill with about a one inch bit or so and drill holes through the post (parallel to each other) at the right heights for the rails. Drill the holes in the center of where you want the rails. Then get a small bladed saw and cut out the ovals for the rail ends to be inserted. There you go: a post. By the way, post, as you may have noticed, has no "a" in it.

Now you just need to explain how to do a pole (and how to dance around one) and then this can become a sticky in the beginners forum. qwert

Especially pole dancing. Someone else should do that, and with illustrative pictures.

I have to guess that failing to compensate for your disability by using the spell check falls into some other category then?
