WITH YOUR SUPPORT!!! All I need from everyone that reads this is a quick email. Please send me an email stating that you want Williamson to Re-open to climbing. You can state more if you wish, but all I need is this statement and your full name and the city you live in. That's it! I have been working for months to coordinate a meeting with the USFS, the USFWS and a Local Congressman and it is finally going to happen within the next two weeks. I need to show that this closure has affected more than just a handful of people. Let's work together to get this place re-opened to climbing. EMAIL - CLIMBHARDER@HOTMAIL.COM Thanks !!!!!!!

It would be helpful to know where this is, and a bit of the history surrounding the closure, and maybe what the climbing is like.

Williamson Rock is located 1 hour North of Los Angeles in the Angeles National Forest. It is a premier Sport Climbing Crag with over 300 routes. It was closed in December 2005 as a temporary measure to protect an endagered species. The Mountain Yellow Legged frog. The "temporary"closure remains in effect today. This public land use issue has been lost in beauraratic mismanagement. Time to step up and demand access to OUR public lands. We can enjoy this place and protect it's wildlife, endangered or not. Currently we have people that do not use this public resource telling us we cannot use it. This must change.

We are off to a good start! I will be presenting these emails to the Congressman and Forest Service officials as proof that we are consolidated as a community on this issue. The more emails I receive the stronger we become. The economic Stimulus Package now before congress includes $3.1 billion for infrastructure projects on federal lands. This includes $1.8 billion for the National Park Service, $325 million for the Bureau of Land Management, $300 million for the National Wildlife Refuges and National Fish Hatcheries, and $650 million for the Forest Service. I will concentrate on making these officials aware that the excuse of not having the resourses to continue the research and developement of a reasonble solution to the Mountain Yellow-legged Frog issue can no longer be used to keep Williamson Rock closed to the public. A chonology of all scoping letters, letter writing campaigns, enviromental studies and management plans done over the past 3 years will be provided as proof of inaction on the part of the USFWS and the USFS. The information I will provide to these officials will be based in fact and verifiable. Jay, I will email you with the outcome of this meeting ASAP. Thanks for your understanding and support ! --wayne

Sounds great. Email on the way. Are you working with FoWR? Just curious since I haven't seen anything posted there about it (might help to get them canvassing too)...
