Are these climbs along with The Prow hard to find and if so, does anyone has any GPS info on them. I'm planning on going the first week of March. Anyone know what kind of weather to expect around that time. Thanks in advance

Assuming you have a guidebook handy, they are not hard to find. Once you take the cut off that leads down into the Amphitheater area they are pretty straight forward. Finding the exact start of the Mummy might be a pain but it doesn't really matter, it looked easy to wander up pretty much anywhere to the belay at the top of the first pitch. If you keep following the easiest line it will take you to the belay as I recall.

If you have the guide, they are not hard to find. THe approach gully to the Ampitheater may take a little looking, but it is not that bad. Weather that time will be hit or miss. You'll need a dry spell and hopefully a warm day. If I remember right, neither of those routes get too much sun.

Is the main gate open at the beginning of the paved road in March? If not that "approach hike" is a thigh destroyer.

I thought that it normally doesn't open until April. That will make for one hell of a hike. Personally, in March that area is going to be too cold for those climbs. The ampitheather stays wet a long time so that area stays cold and probably only gets late day sun until the summer time. We had a few issues finding the start as well, but we didn't realize the climbs start as soon as you leave the gully and walked right past it.

I've never been down to Linville before. We're heading down to do a couple days at Stone Mountain then looking for someplace else to climb for a couple of days. It looks like Linville is close but it sounds like it might be a little early in the season for it now. Is Table Rock ok to climb around this time of year?

Table Rock is in the Linville Gorge, and shares the same parking problems you'd find with the Mummy and the Daddy. (The road is closed until the beginning of April.)
Moore's Wall is in the same neighborhood as Stone Mountain, and that would be a fun place to go if it isn't too cold. I think Pilot Mountain would be a bit warmer, but expect a very different vibe from Stone Mountain (beginners toproping, sport climbers, etc.) Otherwise you might want to try Looking Glass. The south face there gets good sun.

or Rumbling Bald. south facing, generally.

Be advised that DOT is busy building the new access/parking for Rumbling Bald. So there may be closures during the next few weeks. You can check here for updates.

Climbing on Table Rock wouldn't be too bad. If your only going there, the hike isn't terribly long with the road being closed. It also has a South Face, but I am not sure about the seeping conditions. Looking Glass is a great idea, so is Crowder's, but I imagine it would be very similar to Pilot, maybe warmer.

If you are looking for moderates (10.a and below) from 2 to 4 pitches, then shortoff mountain (also linville gorge) is the best. vertical climbing, routes in the sun, bomber protection... can't beat it

Thanks for all the info. We got snowed out of NC last week so we jumped over to the Red for a few days before going down to Stone Mountian. Wow, that entance crack gets a little scary towards the top. Is a big bro the only thing that can protect the top of that?
