My partner told me about a time he was climbing and some dude next to him racked up with draws made of chain.

I'll often rack a beer in my chalk bag from the end-of-day summit brew. Partner does the same, and hey presto... summit brewskis for everyone. Not that random really, Nik

I've seen people racking these hex shaped tubes that make a lot of noise swinging from the harness. I've wondered if they're for scaring bears or what? Occasionally they cry out for joy when one of these tubes can be placed in the crack. More often than not they just clang.

When walking by while racked up I usually have people murmur about my 'second chalk bag'. I've heard it all; what a noob, does he sweat that much?, man you must over chalk!. These people shut up rather quickly when they find out that I'm a type 1 diabetic and that second chalk bag is actually a custom made case for carrying emergency diabetic supplies on mulit pitch climbs.

Maybe I should throw something like this in and watch what happens! A piece of steel pipe is always handy to have along. Like on Whitney Gilman Ridge's "Pipe Pitch." There is actually a piece of pipe wedged in the rock that you sling for protection.

You know, with the amount of free time we each have, we could rule the world. Or just piss it away on the internet.

I used to climb with a guy that always racked a stuffed monkey next to his chalk bag. I never understood it myself. . . but he seemed to get it.

So what your saying is that aliens are pointless or stupid and shouldn't be racked?
