This one goes to all the old geezers out there, since you guys have lived through pressing times before. How much of an impact do you think the current financial crisis is gonna make on the amount of visitors to yosemite? More, because there are a lot of people who lost their homes, and are now dirt bags, or less because people don't have the cash to spend on anything, let alone a climbing trip? I'm headed out there in June either way, just wanna know how "Open" it's going to be for me and my buds!

Eh traffic in Yosemite has never been a huge concern of mine.. sometimes its a bit bad but the main thing is you can get there and climb anyway. Finding a legal campsite... thats a different story. But again never really concerned me :)

I don't know about others, but my climbing time is definitely increasing. No job equals no money, but all the time I can stand to climb. I'm logging way more miles on walls this year, just doing it cheap. Yosemite wall traffic will not really decline much if at all in my opinion, as walling is not just a hobby, but an obsession. The regulars will be there, the euros will be there, the SAR's will be there, so will the far easterners. The yosemite traffic from tourons may decrease slightly, but probably not the climbing traffic. My $.02. Bob

There'll DEFINITELY be wayyyyy too much traffic for you to even get INTO the PARK. You should definitely stay home till the economy recovers in 10 years....
