Theres a chance my family is moving to Saratoga Springs. What kind of climbing is reasonably close to there? How much bouldering is there near by? Also is there a climbing gym within an hour or so? Thanks

Mccohenster wrote: How much bouldering is there near by? Not much. At least not "close"....(that I am aware of) Probably the closest area with a significant number of good boulders is around Crane Mt.

The Adirondacks (Dacks) and the Gunks are some great outdoor trad climbing in that area. Go to your local EMS store and pick up a guide.

+1 for Adirondack Rock, an awesome guide book As for Albany Indoor Rock Gym it's not terrible, just low, maybe 25ft tall ceilings. I would check out Nine Corners Lake, some of the best bouldering in the southern dacks.
