Theres a chance my family is moving to Saratoga Springs. What kind of climbing is reasonably close to there? How much bouldering is there near by? Also is there a climbing gym within an hour or so? Thanks

Quarzite 2hrs south in the Gunks.
Granite 1/2-1hr north all over the 'dacks!
...Mostly trad. There are a (very) few places in the 'dacks where you can find some sport climbing.

Not much. At least not "close"....(that I am aware of) Probably the closest area with a significant number of good boulders is around Crane Mt.

Yup, there are at least 2 in Albany, and 1 in Glens Falls.

The Adirondacks (Dacks) and the Gunks are some great outdoor trad climbing in that area. Go to your local EMS store and pick up a guide.

+1 for Adirondack Rock, an awesome guide book

As for Albany Indoor Rock Gym it's not terrible, just low, maybe 25ft tall ceilings.

I would check out Nine Corners Lake, some of the best bouldering in the southern dacks.
