me and a couple friends are probably going to take a day trip up to either rumbling bald, or grandmother mountain this weekend, and i can't really decide where to go. i have been to bald before and loved it but i would definitely try to check out somewhere else. i can send v4's consistently in a gym (live on east coast...) and my friends are just starting out (v1's-2's) what would be the best place to go to up around the charlotte/boone area?

I love Rumbling Bald. Just make sure it is open before driving up there. Also, it is getting a bit late in the season and may be unbearably hot. Take lots of water.

I don't know about bouldering in the Boone area, because the whole area irritates me, well mostly the people and not so much the area, but either way I tend to stay away.

BTW, I'm old, fat, have had a heart-attack, and suck horribly at bouldering, well okey I suck horribly at climbing in general, but I would gladly tag along and complain all day if you'd like. Smile
