You might have better luck if you add, "I'll carry the rope, buy the beer, and drive." The clincher would be, "I'm a former Dallas cheerleader and I just broke up with my boyfriend."

we've had this conversation before, but mentors will almost never act altruistically. They will mentor because they want to get laid, can't find other climbing partners, need an ego boost, etc. Just something to keep in mind.

haha sounds like I should change that to looking for a partner, not mentor. And to my misfortune, I am not a chic. Oh well..
