I don't know if anyone on this site knew Raleigh, but he was a JTree and Sierra fixture for many years.

Raleigh leapt from the top of Sports Wall some time ago.

I was there two weeks ago to run laps on Kirkatron. Each time I go I think about Raleigh.

RIP buddy.

Memories of Raleigh still pop into my head often. We had lots of good times together. I still can't believe he made the choice to go the way he did.
He was such a paradox - so very talented and so very flawed.

Sorry I missed you when you visited, K.

I think of Raleigh a lot. In some sense, he lives on in our memories.

He and I had both climbing and hang gliding adventures together. He was one of the most talented athletes I'd ever met and one of the most troubled human beings I'd ever met.

RIP, buddy.

Brandt, we swung by your house twice, but you were out and about. Check yr PMs.

And yeah, Raleigh was messed up, but that was also pretty common in our circle. Climbing has been normalized now-- the percentage of folks who use climbing to self-medicate is much lower than it once was.

I tried to search this post out on the JTClimb site, but no luck. Can you tell me what the heading was? I knew him...and often wondered what became of him. Another sad loss to our circle.

Hi Gene, how's it going?
A lot of old posts were erased from JTClimb.com to make more room for new stuff, so what you're looking for is probably gone. There was a lot of discussion at the time of Raliegh's death on Supertopo that is most likely still there.
Ever get down to JT anymore? It would be fun to see you again.

Raleigh taking a rest day in Moab.

I heard of, but never saw Raleighs dark side. I sure had a lot of fun hanging out with that dude.

Peace out Raleigh

Hey Brandt, I got out of climbing for a while, but am trying to get off the couch again. I hope all is well with you! I hope to see you in JTree next Fall. Gene.
