Camp 4 restrooms are down to two functioning dirty toilets (been this way since thursday, I think). Work on the restrooms (retiling) started last week but for the last two days (monday and today) there has been no workmen around. Shame to the NPS for not getting this done in a efficient manner. If it were the Ahwahnee or the lodge I'm sure it would be fixed sooner. The toilets only an hour ago were filthy and nearly out of toilet paper.

The bathrooms are the reason I don't stay at camp IV. Sad but true.

That sucks. Random question. Does anyone know about how early I'll need to get to Camp 4 to get a campsite this upcomming friday? I was told it filled up pretty darn fast the last weekend it wasn't raining.

Hell, I've done contractor's jobs for them when they told me they were done. Then I went out to get to work, and they were not done. At all. The only way to get these things done on time is to make it clear that the budget will not be expanded if the work takes longer than estimated, and offer bonuses for finishing early. As long as its more profitable to take too long, contractors will continue to move slower than they are reasonably capable of.

Good to hear. Lissen up: Camp 4 has always been a dirtbag camp. Always will be. Harding peed in your campsite, back in the day. As did Bridwell, Kauk, Bard, Raffi Bedayn, Bestor robinson, et al et al et al. Don't like the scum? get the hell outta hells kitchen. I hear they have nice clean bathrooms down at the climbing gym in emeryville.

Speaking of Yosemite restroom disgrace...I once walked into a restroom in one of the Pines campgrounds and some guy was washing his testicles in the sink...yes, he was a climber..no, I didn't use the sink.

I once saw a guy do this in my dorm bathrooms. He had, um, recently finished with a girl and needed to clean himself.

The big key to this is to have government managers that enforce the standard. I think most people find this hard to do especially when in a long term project.
