Here's a clipping from the CASBC (Climber's Access Society of BC) web site. Hope to see you out there supporting access in BC.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (TUESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER)
The annual general meeting will be on 7:30 PM on Tuesday 26th November 2002 at the ANZA Club in Vancouver. 3 West 8th Avenue meeting upstairs, refreshments available downstairs. Members, friends, and supporters of CASBC welcome! (Only current members can vote or become directors.) You can renew your membership, or join CASBC, at the door. The AGM will cover activities over the last year, financial statements, elections, and directions for the next year and more. There will be a few draw prizes, a special presentation, and Jeremy Frimer will tell stories and show slides on alpine adventures in Peru, Patagonia, the St. Elias Range, and elsewhere.
We may have 2-3 openings for directors from Vancouver, Squamish, and perhaps elsewhere. CASBC's administration (membership, finances, newsletter) is centralized, but most other things are decentralized, so theres lots of opportunity, without too much need for meetings and paperwork. Directors represent CASBC and climbers in their region, set directions, ensure issues are addressed, promote membership, and organize projects as needed.
