Petzl Mini Traxion for big wall hauling?

I know that the Pro-Traxion is better suited for hauling heavier loads because of the larger/smoother pulley but the cam mechanism strength is rated the same. The mini-traxion is still much stronger than the old standard, the Rock Exotica "wall hauler." I have done a couple grade V walls with mine and it seems fine... so is it really worth upgrading to the Pro-Traxion? Is the pulley size really the only difference? Thoughts?

If you've been "fine" with the Mini, then I don't see a reason to replace it with the Pro. (You must not be hauling that much.)
If you haven't been "fine" with the Mini, unfortunately, the Pro will make only a marginal difference. IMO, you'd be better off buying a couple of good pulleys for a 2:1 ratchet, and continue to use the Mini for your hauling ratchet.

Strength isn't the problem. It's harder to haul with the mini primarily because the pulley is smaller. If you have a light enough load the minitraxion is fine. If not...
Your not gonna gain all that much going to the pro unless your headed for a grade VI wall. If you really want a bigger pulley, you can get a 4 inch pulley and invert a jug or a basic. You can get one from Yates.
Here's a link to the block roll. They are really hard to find.

So it obviously may be more difficult to haul big loads using a mini traxion, but from a failure standpoint - is it more likely to fail than a protraxion?
Let's say that I already have a mini traxion for TR soloing and such and I want to use it to haul up a grade VI. Can't I just use a pulley system to make the hauling easier? Or will hauling those big loads actually break the mini traxion?
It is said that the pro and mini have the same strength rating, so maybe it shouldn't be a problem?

I've used a Mini Traxion in a mechanical-advantage haul (3:1) and I did not like it. The sheave diameter seems too small for reasonable efficiency, and doing a 1:1 with a regular pulley felt easier.
You may be thinking extra pulleys and muscle will compensate but I'd leave that thing on the ground.
Practice with your hauling system before you blast off.

Kong Block Roll all the way. Screw both the mini and pro...
I watched someone almost loose their pigs cause the pro popped loose. I know you can back that up with a biener, but why? Just go with something that doesn't fail...
