Hello everyone, The Adventure Guild is hosting a Climb-a-Thon instead of a climbing competition on May 30, 2009. The proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition for the purchase of the crag in Steele Alabama. This event will be taking place on the 50 foot limestone pillar underneath the Walnut Street Bridge in Coolidge Park. Whether you are just starting out or have been climbing for many years, there will be a little bit of everything for everyone. All you have to do is get family/friends to support you by sponsoring you per climb (i.e. $10/climb - 10 climbs @$10=$100 for Steele!) or sponsoring you with a flat rate donation to go toward the purchase of Steele and encourage you to come and climb. Just have folks sign up on a form that you can get at www.theadventureguild.com. At the end of the Climb-a-Thon an email will be sent to your sponsors letting them know how many climbs you completed. Then the sponsor can write a check made payable to The Adventure Guild for the amount due and TAG will issue one, hopefully large, check to the SCC. If you have sponsors that want to do a flat rate donation, please have them make a check payable to The Adventure Guild and bring those monies to the Climb-a-Thon along with your sponsor sheet. If you can't get any sponsors, just come out anyway May 30, 2009 from 10:00-1:00 and help support the SCC with this purchase in Steele. There will be food and fun. For more information or registration you can call (423) 266-5709 or visit www.theadventureguild.com Andrew Magnussen The Adventure Guild
