Hello... I'm heading to Arkansas for a couple days and I want to buy a harness and atc. I'll be passing through Harrison and Jasper. Are there any good gear stores in those areas? JJ

Nope. Horseshoe Canyon Ranch will have a few items but the nearest full stores will be in Fayetteville, about an hour away. There you will find The Pack Rat and Uncle Sams.

Hmmm... That's way out of the way. How about Russellville? We'll be just north of there (Pelsor). JJ

Sorry, nothing in Russellville either. It's Fayettville or Little Rock for Arkansas.

If you are going to be passing thru harison to jasper south on highway 7 turn west/right on hwy 74 just before the little buffalo river drive aprox 10 minutes look for the HorseShoe Canyon Ranch sign and go down the dirt road 1ish mile go through the gate, please close the gate after you drive in, go to the trading post or pro shop you will be able to buy a harness and ATC and any other gear, if shop is closed just hang a bit and some one will eventually come open up. good luck

Are you staying at the fairview camp ground? cuz there is no where else in Pelsor to stay, I'm pretty sure the Pelsor town sign has no population. I just call it the woods.

We're going to a place called Falling Waters. We'll just be sleeping in our truck for that night. Hehehe... I'll check out the pro shop. I knew of hcr, but didn't know if they sold gear. JJ

Not sure where you're coming from but you might find some gear shops in Springfield if you're coming through there.

Yeah... We're in Branson. Dynamic Earth is in Springfield, but they open at 10 and that would put us leaving Branson at like 1pm. JJ

If your going from branson to pelsor your best bet and least out of your way is going to be the trading post at HCR, where are you climbing at?

We hit the hcr trading post and ended up meeting the dosage guy. I thought that was cool. I didn't realize it was him for a while, then it hit me that he looked familiar. They had pretty good prices, although limited selection. We didn't climb any at hcr (we were going to today, but it was raining). We climbed down at pedestal rocks, which was pretty cool. There was one column, in particular that we spent some time on. I'd say it was 5.4, but really fun. I wish it would have been bolted, as we only climbed about 15-20 feet. I think there was still another 20-25 feet to go, with a nice landing at the top. We kayaked a bit on the buffalo river, today. JJ
