seriously- it was a 30' fall at about 60-70' up...no. big. deal. didier didnt come anywhere near the ground. that piece (and possibly the one below it) could have failed before he would have even been in the vicinity.

darn, that video is good.
How long would it take a new climber to do that? I just got my first pair of shoes in.
6 months or?

I'd wait until 7 months. Otherwise there is a slight chance you could sustain a minor tendon injury.

We don't agree on the video belay but this is pretty good stuff right here. Well spoken and written Majid. Love that African Dog thing. It works and is true as well, however, he didn't deck.

do not blame airplane if the pilot do not know how to land. I belay will ATC ,8 and GG....and each device handles the belaying differently but set of belaying skill should be the same regardless of what you use, however, many climbers suffer from lack of good belaying skill. I mean, how many time you read this " I dropped my partner or I decked cause there was too much slack "?
