I went climbing yesterday, loaded a pack that was absolutely stuffed with gear into the truck, then drove out to Vedauwoo. It was not until I got to the trailhead that I realized that I had accidentally left all of my wide gear at home, so one of the routes I wanted to do was right out. That's right, with a pack holding 21 cams, none of them were larger than an old #4 camalot, and that meant that one (or more) of the routes on my to-do list was completely unprotectable. Not just runout in spots, not just with less than optimal pro, without my fat stuff, this route would be a solo. All because I'd foolishly left a third of my rack at home in a different bag. Not as bad as the day when I had to clear my hands-rack off my chair to get to the computer, but still.

Photo in pieces because my room is tiny. I don't drag things like the 8, or rescuecender (for tr solo) up most climbs. And i don't think i've ever climbed with the large hexes let alone placed them, nice and shiny still.

Discontinued? Shit, they're a worthy cam. I will, however, trad you a yellow maxcam for any link cam.
