IMO,the three most powerful causes to stop climbers from climbing would be;
1-Wife/Husband
2-GF/BF
3-Physical/medical issues
there are no 4th or 5th

7 foot runouts are crazy. I like climbing, but I don't have a death wish. Some climbs you just have to skip if whoever bolted it was too lazy to place enough bolts.
Also, while we're on the subject, I have a pet peeve. When you're bolting along a crack, don't skimp on the cost of hardware by just bolting along one side. Some of us are left handed, and having bolts running along both sides makes clipping much easier. I hate having to reach across my body to clip. You would think experienced climbers would have thought of things like this before going out and buying a bolt gun or whatever they use...
