IMO,the three most powerful causes to stop climbers from climbing would be;

1-Wife/Husband
2-GF/BF
3-Physical/medical issues

there are no 4th or 5th

How about death of said climber well participating in climbing? I think that one would take the cake.

Insanity.

On second thought, it didn't stop you.

On third thought, do you actually climb?

Gravity occasionally prevents me from climbing, but is also a driving factor in why I climb... Hmm.

I don't get it. You got a thing for transsexuals and/ or hermaphrodites? I think that's great -- they're people that need love just like everyone else -- but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that your tastes don't generally extend to the average climber.

Best of luck with your significant other; I sincerely hope you make him/ her very happy.

Such as a new climber reading majid's posts and getting a massively inflated sense of how dangerous the sport actually is.

I don't know about this. When I first read his posts the first thing that came to mind was, "This guy is a total, shadow-jumping TOOL! I'm putting him high up on the ignore list for me but I'll see what more of the high-post-count members have to say."

It didn't take long. He's a tool. Advice from him on any subject wouldn't affect my decision. It would simply provide colorful entertainment. I keep looking for him on American Idol or some similar show doing Michael Jackson songs. Hasn't happened yet...Wink

if majid was at a climbing area, that would mean he might actually be climbing... which i think we all know is impossible.

7 foot runouts are crazy. I like climbing, but I don't have a death wish. Some climbs you just have to skip if whoever bolted it was too lazy to place enough bolts.

Also, while we're on the subject, I have a pet peeve. When you're bolting along a crack, don't skimp on the cost of hardware by just bolting along one side. Some of us are left handed, and having bolts running along both sides makes clipping much easier. I hate having to reach across my body to clip. You would think experienced climbers would have thought of things like this before going out and buying a bolt gun or whatever they use...
