Hello

I've climbed at Emigrant several times this summer and some of the bolts at the top of my favorite routes have spinning hangers. I have heard this can be bad for the bolts.

I would happily rectify matters (drill new holes and install new bolts?) if I knew how, but I don't (yet).

Is there anyone out there who might share their expertise with me?

Try tightening the bolt first! If you can't set an anchor above back up the anchor from below with the bolts you have led on. If you are unsure about how tight, let someone else do it. You can do it by the specs or if you have turned wrenches all you life you can do it on the fly. As to drilling and replacing bolts do a search and watch someone do it.

Be careful not to overtighten the bolts.
