I'm heading up to Vegas for a long week in November and i am wondering which guide book would be the best for me. I'm going to sport climb and boulder.

Thanks

Im actually going November 9-14 , Is it doable to be on the strip, go climb, and then catch a plane that afternoon/evening? How far from the strip is the climbing at Red Rock?

Ready for my first climb away from Hawaii!

the jerry handren guidebook is hands down the best guide.
and as far as distances from a to b - rr takes about 25ish minutes to drive to from the strip depending on which end of the strip/traffic. and getting to the airport from rr is maybe again 25-30ish. i hope you're renting a car though. the cabbies out here will rape you...literally

and for a bouldering guidebook the one that's out is pretty good but if i were you i'd just print the one off of dr topo or take a look at someone else's and focus on the sport-it's a lot better than the boulders in my opinion

There is a new comprehensive bouldering guide which is recieving great reviews entitled Southern Nevada Bouldering. It covers all the areas around Las Vegas while focusing on Red Rocks.

It, along with the Handren guide will cover nearly any concievable route/problem you would like to do in the region.

See snellpress.com for the bouldering guide and redrocksguidebook.com for Handren's route guide.
