Sorry for the advertisement, but a new guidebook to Texas bouldering is nearly done. Jeff Jackson, the editor for Rock and Ice has written another book. It will go to print the first week of September and be ready to ship by the end of September. If you are interested, you can purchase them for half off over at http://www.erockonline.com It's a very comprehensive book. It also has killer photos in it. They should be in stores (REI, Whole Earth, etc) by the end of September, first part of October timeframe. Ok, shameless plug complete.

One of the first locales listed in the book is in Plano, at 75 north and Spring Creek, on a dirt road by some railroad tracks. The guidebook claims there's manufactured climbing on old cement highway buttresses. Supposedly a couple v2/3s and even a bolted 5.12. Anyone know if that's still around? I live just down the street and have been unable to find it... Not for lack of trying. I've probably sent a whole tank of exhaust fumes into our pretty blue Texas sky trying to figure this one out. Regardless, this is an excellent guidebook all around.

Dang if anybody knows where that stuff near Plano is I'd be real interested, me and my friend fly into Addison all the time to go climb at Dallas Rocks and it's just south of Plano, we'd probably like to check it out.

from what i've heard from some old local climbers is that it's supposed to be on the concrete supports of a railroad bridge. it might be the small one just south of the intersection. look online at any map, follow the tracks just south, i haven't gotten a chance to go check it out yet. if i find anything, i'll post back.
