For years I was working for the man, making money, paying on a house, collecting stuff, but I was never satisfied. One day my wife and I decided to sell everything, quit our jobs, and hit the road for 3 months climbing and hiking. It was awesome! Now we are back in the real world, working for the man again, but this time living more simply. Still we find ourselves only getting outside a couple times a month. How do you balance work & play?

Was in middle management for a manufacturing company in an 8-5 with very little vacation, then I went to carpentry for a VERY short while until that dried up due to the economy, now I am a server and my schedule is all over the place.

My dream job would be to get into the park service, but don't want to get into the law enforcement aspect.

Give up climbing and take up PC++ as a hobby. Then get a cushy desk job in a private office. Take a couple months to master what you do so you can get it done in an hour or so, and spend the other 7 PC++-ing your ass off. Win Win!

I'm self-employed so I just do what I want. I work 2 really long days play 2 days. Work 1 more day then have my weekend. It's not a bad way to go. Two 16 hour days, 2 days to play, 1 8 hour day and 2 days to play. That's how I do it. I still hate it. I'd like to just work an hour a day, every day and then be out there going after it all over the world. :SIGH:

Get out of work at 4:30. During the summer, I can climb after work. And weekends. During the shorter days, it's the gym after work. During some periods, I don't do it as much, other times I'm more into it. Good thing I like my work.
