Decked twice, each time about 10-15 feet up. Each time I was too far above my first piece and desperately looking for the second piece. Balied off the second one and went back up to climb the route clean after the first fall. No injuries either time, but my partner was afraid each time that I had busted something.
To all the folks who call BS on a 40-foot fall: I don't have the details, but there was a young girl who fell at Rumney from the anchors a couple of summers ago. The landing isn't nice where she fell. I don't remember her injuries, but from what I remember they weren't that extensive. It was a rather shocking thing to hear that she ended up all right in the end. So it does happen.

For me, probably about 20-25 feet up in a gym. Was a top-rope setup with ATC, new belayer. I missed a move, fell, the rope slapped my belayer in the face, and she was so surprised she let go with her brake-hand. Luckily, there was enough friction in the system that I didn't fall too quickly, and while pretty surprised, was uninjured.

But, just this morning I read in a newspaper about a toddler who fell out of the 4th-story window and after a 30-ft fall onto a concrete patio with a pile of rocks suffered only minor bruises.

Twice.
1st time was from about 10 ft. My first piece was a nut and I didn't have a cam in the right size for an oppositional (first year of climbing so I had a barebones rack) but elected to keep climbing anyway. Foot slipped, nut popped, I decked. I spent a day and a half laying on the living room floor and then had a sore back for 3+ weeks.
2nd time was from about 15 ft. and I was lucky as hell that one didn't come earlier and MUCH higher. See avatar

I've decked twice.
Once from 10m when my inexperienced belayer (girlfriend - I see a common theme emerging in this thread) panicked and tried to stop me by grabbing the running end of the rope, not behind the belay device. My fault, I should have spent a LOT more time practising with her before doing a climb where I was likely to fall. She slowed me enough that I was basically unhurt, at the cost of very bad rope burns to her palm.
Once from about 6m, above 1 piece of pro at 4m. Overhanging straight in crack, and I was demonstrating my inability to climb cracks. Got myself wedged in an unstable postion, and couldn't get a hand free to get pro in, started barn-dooring every time. Heel got wedged and couldn't get it out, so couldn't downclimb - total clusterf*ck. At least by belayer had plenty of warning I was going to pop. Eventually I went for it but was yanked back by my stuck foot, and fell, inverting as I went. Foot released (thank the stars) and my belayer got all dynamic and managed to reel in enough slack that my (bare) head stopped 30cm above the ground. Broke a small bone in the back of my hand when it hit the deck. Worn a helmet since then...

80' or so. But I hit a bunch of ledges on the way down....38 years ago - ouch.
I'd been climbing for @ 2 months or so.

New technology doesn't necessarily change a naturally poorly protectable route into a really safe one.
Also, it was a slight slab, but not enough that I would be riding it down.

None of that, I was unconscious for a bit, than the word "slack", which I repeated like 6 times, was misconstrued as "Fu*k" by my partner, who I do not believe ever climbed again. As I was a tad inverted, head on the last ledge I'd slammed, feet higher, I just wanted the dude to give me 3 feet so I could be laying on dirt nice and flat like.
We were still over @ 140 feet up, and needed to do a double rope rap to get off. Difficult with a cracked wrist bone.
Stupidity and inexperience ruled that day.

I "touched" the deck on rope stretch in northumbria once. We only had a single set of cams so my second piece was too small for the crack and popped when I slipped onto it. I tapped the deck then my belayer lowered me and we just stared at each other wide-eyed like "WTF? THEY CAN COME OUT!??"

I also had a similar experience when I just started climbing, I took a fall on a sport route a couple of bolts up (My hand popped off the hold as I tried to clip the rope with a ton of slack) and my feet touched the ground just at the end of the rope stretch.
The belayer was belaying with a fig 8 <-- That shit will get you killed. I did not know it at the time.

The online name is older than many people who post here, and has nothing to do with climbing. It is a holdover from my snowmobile hillclimb racing days. Does it bug ya?

i know guy ho fall down from 30 meters thats ehh 90 Feet?..? Hey leadclimb 32 meters and by mistake the belayer unclipped.. and than he leant back the quickdraws created some friction in the start( 60meter rope) so he just broke his enkels....

48' in 1973, my brother and me went back and measured it the next spring.
3 days in ICU, broken shoulder blade, almost tore off my left thumb, head concussion, 2 broken ribs, one lung bruised and the other collapsed. The hospital bill hurt worse than anything after i was out for a couple months (no insurance).
