Yes, I tried searching. No, I didn't find anything. Can someone recommend a few harnesses with large gear loops? I currently have a BD Momentum and it seems to 1) have to small of gear loops; and 2) always sag when I rack a good amount of gear. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you consider "big" but I have a wildcountry elite syncro lying around and it has alot of/decently sized loops... You could make some yourself with plastic tubing, slings or nylon or whatever the hell else you want girthed around your waistbelt...

Trango designs all their harnesses to have beefy gear loops for trad climbing. I have the Eldo model, and can rack ~8 cams per loop. they stick out from the harness, rather than just hanging there.

What kind of climbing do you usually partake in ? All trad - something from WC, Synchro Ziplock is my personal choice. Big-Wall, anything from Yates is usually good.

I'll third the elite synchro wild country. 7 gear loops. 6 of them are functional while climbing, the 7th in back is great for cordolette, belay device, shoes etc. its also pretty comfy too.

Besides, I didn't think they let dirty frogs on this site anyway I sent you a PM, if you're in the states we must go to Rumney before the cold.

Momentum is pretty much a sporty harness. You'll notice a trend of some companies to make smaller gear loops, ie. Black diamond. Misty Mountain In reply to: has some pretty big loops, especially the 6 loop Cadillac if you can afford it. BD blizzard is decent size, and so are the Wild Country. Best bet is just to look around. Tip...they must be ROUND!! Anything with square style loops will suck.

Any of the new Arc'tryx harnesses with 4 loops are among the roomiest I've seen.

Check out the harnesses from misty mountain. They make some great gear, their cadillac and ranger harnesses have nice sized gear loops but the harnesses aren't too bulky. I also have a yates shield that I love, it has about a dozen large gear loops, but I don't wear that unless I'll be hanging in it because it's pretty bulky.

The latest Petzl Calidris has two huge gear loops in the back, much bigger than anything else that I'd seen in various stores. I'm not sure I like the big loops though, seems like lot of gear would make getting the gear in the middle harder to remove. I think I like the WC Elite Ziplock Syncro better, with more loops rather than larger loops. It actually fits me better than the Petzl, so I think that's the way I'm going to go. Still haven't decided yet.

Do they have some give if you press up to the rocks, or are they very rigid?

That's the old style with 5 gear loops, which isn't much better than the standard harness. The new Ziplock Elite Syncro has 7 total loops.

It's in the RC classifieds, but I have a brand new Misty Mountain Cirque harness for sale. $40 plus shipping...it's got very large loops. I have 4 other harnesses and don't need it.
