The bouldering areas are all somewhat spread out. It would be hard to camp and hike to the bouldering areas. Hitchhiking is a possibility.

I believe this means essentially going to Tahoe and dropping down to get there from SF. Seems like 5 out of 6 people I've talked to recently climbing in the sierras are from the bay area. Hook up with someone going, offering to pitch in for gas...
