Hi im going to all of south america for about 8 mounths and i was wondering if there any specific place that i should check out for climbing. I cllimb 7A. If anyone can recommend anything it will be helpfull thanks.

South America is pretty big, but I found good sport climbing in Hatun Machay, near Huaraz, in the north of Peru. Dunno about other places.

In Colombia go to Suesca.
Sport and trad in sandstone up to 5.13 (8), 350 routes.

I'd go back to Torres del Paine or El Chalten. Pick one, arrive in early January and spend at least a month there. Then I'd relax and climb a few weeks in Frey outside of Bariloche.
I'm also keen to climb the high altitude stuff in the cordillera blanca.
If Alpinism isn't your thing...there're probably some gyms down there or something

For multi-pitch rock routes, there are some in Rio and south of Santiago as well as those mentioned here.

Colombia is very advisable. There are 4 places you should consider visiting:
1. Suesca (where it all started in Colombia)... About 400 routes... sport, trad, crack, face, 1 pitch to 4 pitches... beautiful sand stone (somehow it resembles eldo). 50 minutes away from Bogotá.
2. Mesa de los Santos (aka. La Mojarra). Surreal location above a beautiful valley. 150 mainly sport routes, red sandstone...
3. Macheta - Near Bogotá smaller sport crag.
4. El Cocuy. Alpine climbing.

Id 2nd that Fitz Roy for a month thing. I spent a month there in and around El Chalten and it was sweeeet! I did quite a bit of peak baggin, trekking, and bouldering. It was probably the most beautiul area Ive ever seen. Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine, not too far away. I heard about some sport crag near El Chalten and there is a ton of hard core Alpinism around. Take a strong tent and when those 75mph wind gusts come buy, go get yerself a $1 box of red wine.
