In REALLY don't care to see banner video of guys kicking the crap out of each other when I visit a/this site. Two thumbs down.
And how is that not considered adult content? May as well just start running adds for cigarettes while you are at it. If this site needs $ that bad…let it die. There is no pride in the gutter.

People have bitched into the wind about the UFC ads a time or two.
It's like this: Pious OP with lame comparisons followed by a few "get Adblock" posts and an insult or two... which I may or may not be making. Thread dies, starts over again in a few months.

Not one recorded death in UFC, Pride, WEC, Strikeforce, Dream, Sengoku, Bellator, KotC, WFC or ProElite events. A small handful of career-ending injuries, probably less than ten.

I like UFC but I can see how people would not like it. They should have a right to bitch about not liking it even if I don't agree. You know it's a slow day at rc.com when a rant about ads gets the most hits....
I used to block the ads, but I haven't on this computer, as it doesn't seem to slow it down in page loads. But hmmmm....
It has just occurred to me that it probably does take more MB's to have them on. I am using one of those mobile modems, and only get 5 G's per month. Adblocker, here I come!

good call, first post and thread title
has to do with generating the calm space necessary for non violent, cooperative rather than competitive sports
somethin like that, in actuality, enough <complaining>about the advertising will eventually result in some kinda action
as for me, i am good for a few $ about 5 as a contribution towards having a violence free site
no slur on the unlimited fighters, my <native peoples> representative and my us army national guard connection are both into cagefighting
hmm thinking
of course, my usual credentials are those of taco stand soda jerk and a ski hill nightjanitor ... ... so my thinking may well be off on this |

Yeah, I like Evans too...he's from my neck of the woods, Niagara Falls, NY.
I know it's bloody, but relative to boxing, its safer. In MMA, there is no "standing 8 count" so you can continue getting your head punched in after you are already concussed. You can't get back up and get punched more.

I don't get any UFC ads, but I do see ads for Sarah Palin's book, and not always when I'm in the soap box. A few questions:
i) Would you rather fight in a UFC match (at the highest level), or would you rather endure Palin's book?
ii) Which would leave you more brain damaged?
iii) You guys get all the ads with violence and sex appeal, but the Canadian targeted ads are all completely tame. That's bullshit. I guess that wasn't really a question.
