Hello, I am having a whole lot of trouble trying to find a bouldering guide for J Tree. With Dr. Topo down and out for the count... I have been searching for book versions... to no avail! I cant seem to find a book to buy anywhere! This one by Miramontes (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Bouldering-Guide-Joshua-National/dp/0972937307/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top), based on reading through the forum, seems to be best. Does anyone know where I can find a copy? OR.. if someone may have the .pdf for the Dr. Topo guide sitting around on their computer and may want to send it over?? I would greatly appreciate it! It will be my first time down in J Tree... in 2 weeks... would like to have an idea of what I am getting into. I know it is big down there .. and would like to minimize that Lost feeling and increase that sending feeling more.. haha. Thanks

This thread started on 12/29/09 and these guys say a new guidebook is due out within the next year(but no guarantee). Ive heard lots of new problems/areas are being discovered. http://www.westcoastbouldering.com/...ic.php?f=1&t=821 But also check out this site cause it has a problem database for Josh. And if you want the current Miramontes guide, you can pick it up at Nomad's in Joshua Tree.

Hey thanks for the thread... I read that already. :) Unfortunately ... I will be down in J Tree in 2 weeks... not next year :( ... and they aren't 100% on the guide ETA... but I definitely wish those guys the best of success. It would be awesome to have an updated bouldering guide of the area some day. I also checked the webpage that Nomad's has up for Joshua tree village ... it doesn't list the Miramontes book. You're sure they have it? ... I am all the way up here in Toronto.. if I could get my hands on the book asap ...or know for sure where it will be... it would be great.

Nomads most likely has them. My wife works there, I'll check with her and get back to you.
