Hello! I'm a Climber who is recently unemployed and looking to take advantage of my time off by taking some climbing trips - preferrably with someone who I could meet before hand in a similar position. Me: Laid Off (recently - and looking for a job), 25, male, climbing for about 2 years, lead climber certified, very safe, own gear, car, top rope 5.11b redpoint & 5.10D onsite, easy going, fun and personable. So I'd like to meet someone who is also unemployed and willing to take off for some trips. I'm thinking Red Rocks, Tennessee, California and any other place that's warm this time of year. The reason I'm posting the add in the Canada section is because I'd like to meet and climb with a prospective traveller before I leave on a trip. If you're down shoot me a pm! Thanks, TOC123

The part I don't get is, if you're unemployed, how can you afford to take climbing trips? Got a trust fund or something? I've been out of work for 2 years now and if there is some way to travel for free, I'd love to know about it.

The key ot having money and not working is to save all your money when you are working ...plus I don't have any dependents so that also helps...also travelling can be really cheap. Plus I haven't been out of work for very long.

Have a gainfully employed husband and take advantage of that EI that you paid into for so many years? Problem with EI is that you don't get paid when you're out of the country on climbing trips. Plus the hubby is really getting on my case to get a job again......
