Organic pads have a lot of support here, so just wondering which one(s) everyone has. Also, on a more "technical" note, what is the real benefit to the pouch on the full pad vs the simple pad? Or are there other differences I don't know about.

The pouch is AWESOME. Think of it as a backpack replacement... it's big enough for lunch, bug spray, tape, a guide book, etc. Throw a biner on for your shoes and you're golden. The other differences (my girlfriend and i both have the fullpad, so these are the only differences i'm aware of-- there may be others) are: 1) the option of a waist strap both of which we use. On more technical approaches, this comes in handy, as i t keeps the pad pretty sturdy; and 2) a height adjustable shoulder strap system (comes standard). At first i thought this was overkill, but once you use it, you realize pretty quickly how beneficial it is. I'd go with the Full. It's really a spectacular pad.

I just ordered a simple pad and received it a couple days ago, it's an awesome pad. Both the differences that sp00ki mentioned came on my simple pad. The only thing it doesn't have is the pouch, but I don't care, because where I usually climb and boulder in the same day. My girlfriend carries the light, cushy pad, and I carry the pack with everything else in it. The pouch is really a judgement call. It's 10 bucks, no big deal.

I've seen the simple pad and it didn't come with any of that. No height adjustable straps (if you haven't seen it, you might not be familiar with what they are), no hip strap, no pouch. Can you take a pic of yours? If you got those features, you either got a bonus or the simple pad has changed for the better.

That's what I'm saying, though. My simple pad came with a hip belt. So only get the fullpad if you need a pouch.

Yeah I'll try and get one up tonight. I thought I saw another post (bouldering forum, I think) that said the same thing, so I'm thinking Josh either changed it, or me and the other guy just happen to be nice guys.

Yeah, no doubt about that-- definitely a great shop. That's good news about the pad, by the way-- regardless of the reason why.

I own both a full pad and a half pad and they kick ass! I'm absolutely in love with Organic's product. Also Josh is a great guy, and awesome to do business with.

Any chance you could clarify the differences?

the hip strap is an additional option for either the simple or full pad. I believe it is $15. The full gets the pouch as most people mentioned. I recommend adding the half/briefcase pad that can be carried with your full/simple pad with the longer straps. Its useful for covering smaller areas that may not be in the direct fall zone, but could do some serious damage if you fell on.

i have a simple pad. it has a waist belt and adjustable shoulder straps. The pouch option is just silly imo. I take a small back pack throw my lunch water and whatever else in it and then throw my shoes (usually 2 pair) and chalk bag all inside the pad fold it over and have no issue with anything falling out of it.

I just got the full pad. It's awesome I took it up to Rumbling Bald NC this weekend to break it in. The pouch does come in handy but doing what 1up described would work just fine too.

You can fold the pouch over the shoulder straps to cover that area if you're bouldering in mud or snow. That's the primary benefit, but I just grin and bear it. The pouch is also handy if you get the halfpad as well, because it holds the halfpad in better than just the straps. I just got the simple pad, since I already had a metolius pad with all the bells and whistles, and i never really used them.
