Made clicky. Good on assembling what you have so far. I'm not trying to trash you, but I do have some (hopefully) constructive comments. First, I find that it's hard to identify some of the key features on a number of climbs, I can't see things like small roofs in the nemo areas I looked at. I think the descriptions need some work too. If I can't see the roof in the photo, then you should at least mention them for people to identify the roofs. You should probably get a bunch of people to read your descriptions too. For example, I feel your assessment on a route like Is she Pretty is wrong. I don't think it is harder for shorter people, and have seen shorter people pull the moves just fine using the same beta that I use. At 5'8" I'm not short, but I have to use the "short person" beta for that route. My husband at 6' does it different. These are just first impressions. I know that you still need to work on it, but I think you have a good start to an online guide. I'm going to link your page on the http://www.ontarioclimbing.com forum. Have you talked to Gus on there? He's been working on a new Ontario guidebook for quite a while too. I think he's just short a bunch of topo photos before he's able to get it to print.

Just a note: I use OS X and can't get the areas to display in Firefox. Safari works, but glitchy.

Thanks for the feedback. I wrote the site using OSX and Safari. I haven't run into any bugs other then the occasional menu glitch. I'll upgrade the Joomla template when a new version is available. For some reason Firefox does not have a PDF embedded plugin - not sure why, but given the way produced some of the guidebooks I don't know of any other way to display the content. I hope you don't mind using Safari :-) I also upgraded the site recently so it will work from iPhone, granted the content is rather difficult to work through with a tiny browser.

Thanks for you feedback. If you have any specific comments or updates, please feel free to send them to me. The guidebook will never be perfect, but I'm willing to republish it as I get feedback. As for Is She Pretty... I'll gladly change the description if someone sends me the secret beta so I (5'5") can send the route in it's grade. -Joe

Great job man! I'll be all over this in the spring. FWIW there is a guide in the works for the entire Ontario region.... http://www.ontarioclimbing.com In 2010, we will release a new comprehensive Ontario climbing guidebook featuring: Hundreds of new routes. Easy-to-use topos. Accurate and updated route descriptions. Directions to new and established cliffs. Previously established but overlooked areas. We hope the new guidebook encourages new and old climbers to experience our diverse climbing opportunities while recognizing Ontario’s more than half a century of climbing activity.

I agree, Gus is a great guy. I know how much work it takes to put together what little information I've collected about a couple of crags, his task of collecting most crags in Ontario is heroic! I live about 30 minutes outside of Toronto. Depending on the year & my personal interests I'm out at Nemo a few times a week. Sadly, I was not able to climb much last year, and didn't take Gus up on a few offers to head out climbing with him. This year looks more promising with climbing injuries out of the way, and a good dose of ice climbing to jump start the season! Hopefully I'll see you out there this year.
