I went to Joshua Tree this past week, and I found this climbing chick who I haven't seen in a bit. It had been a while since she had been out there, and although the trip had it's own challenges, mentally and physically, she was avidly remembering how much she loved climbing big hard things, and being on top, even when it's a sweaty struggle to get there! And every time she would entertain fantasies that maybe, just maybe she actually could climb, her partner would say juuuuuust the right thing to make her feel stupid, awkward, clumsy, inadequate, weak, cowardly, and an all around general failure. And when she told her partner as much, it still didn't stop. Brought to a new level of frustration, she was tempted to cut the trip days short and just head home. Then she stopped to think, if her climbing partner makes her want to STOP climbing, maybe it was time to give each other a little space. He's a good guy, and they had many good times in the past, but as with so many things, it's all about the good fit! So.... Auditions for the Climbing Harem are officially open. cheers LS

Can you do dishes and cook? Laundry is a plus but not required... Do you want kids? What's your sign?

Her rack is pitifully small, so much so, that it won't show up in pics. But to describe it to you... 3 locking biners 3 trad draws #3 BD cam like I said, pitifully small as its still in it's initial growth stage, but she's looking to add to it this season as soon as she gets some money together. That being said, I know for a fact that she will happily compensate for the pitiful rack by hauling that beer to the top. She says she might as well equalize the weight one way or another! I think it's the idea of 'might as well wait with a beer in hand while her rack comes along a little more...' Cheers ls

If I lived down California way, I'd be auditioning -- unless of course, this climber chick is into long-distance climbing relationships. I have been known to travel to climb, if things sound right. Other women I've climbed with have been happy with my equipment, too.

Really, anymore than a handful is just a waste. Hmm, climbsomething will soon arrive as the leader of the itty bitty titty committee, to welcome a new member? Actually, I've seen CS's rack in person, and it's actually much bigger than you'd expect. It just never shows up in photos... (Probably because it never leaves the garage.) G

I don't climb hard but by contrast your lady friend will feel like a hard bodied pro when compared to the flabby skinba g that is me. I always bring a huge rack. I always have good fattening food. I always have good booze in the tent.

Really, anymore than a handful is just a waste. I would think that depends on the hands. What is one handful for one, might be half a handful for another! More isn't always better, but I can definitely imagine situations where TWO handfuls better than one. mmmmmm. ls

Yeah, it was a funny, irreverent post about climbing partnerships with some innuendo for fun. But we're all pretty tightly wound on this climbing site, so to community it goes.

macherry wrote: when even the OP starts making sex innuendo, it's time for community. yeah, but it's her schtick. so to speak. i thought it was mildly clever. now all those threads in gear, on the other hand, where all the boys compare the size of their cams, now that's a real cesspool.
