Hello, Can anyone recommend me a good gear shop in Manhattan? I'm currently here on holiday and I want to stock up on some gear before I return home. In particular I'm after some Aliens and Prana (a present for a friend...) clothing. Thanks in advance, Simon

EMS (Broadway/Spring) seems to be pretty good, if you have a college id card with you they will give you a 15% discount. There is also Tent and Trails on Park Place, but for some reason I don't really like that place.

EMS SoHo (Broadway & Spring) Paragon Sports (Broadway & 18th) Tent and Trails (Park Place) I haven't been to T&T in a couple of years, but they used to have a good gear selection. Don't know about their soft goods, don't know if they have any Aliens left. EMS has an OK selection of gear. No Aliens though. Paragon just north of Union Square. Very little climbing gear (but lots of other sports). A little expensive. No Aliens either. About 1/2 hour west of the city there's an REI. 1/2 NW there's a Ramsey Outdoor (RT17N) that has some climbing gear. Further up 17 there's Campmor with some climbing gear and another EMS. I don't think any have aliens. Then there's Rock and Snow in New Paltz which has a nice selection of gear. Not sure if they have Aliens, I didn't pay attention last time I was there. Good luck!

There haven't been any Aliens regularly stocked at any of these stores in... over a year I'd say. Rock and Snow (right by the gunks) would probably have been your best bet and I stopped in last year, maybe around september, and all they had left in stock was a single silver and one hybrid (don't remember the color). Tl;DR - Aliens are long, long gone for the foreseeable future.
