On trade routes in ancient times, it was not uncommon to see lengthy columns of heavily-laden camels arranged nose-to-tail, extending across the sand dunes in vast caravans.

Look, work with me here, will ya? I don't have any camels, OK?

On the trade routes of today, would-be ascensionists and Big Wall Theorists wrestle heavily-laden pigs and vie for position at crowded belay stances.

Up here in, like, the Great White North, eh?, where many homes now have indoor plumbing and disco music is the rage, the efficiencies of contemporary technique are juxtaposed with luxurious rural ambience in the splendour of a bygone era.

Unfortunately, camels frequently have difficulty negotiating the heavy July snowdrifts, and the water stored in their humps has been known to freeze solid during cold snaps. You'll therefore find the caravans along the trade routes here in the Great White North to be something of a different ilk from the Merrican version or the historical version.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that
some Hosersare willing to traverse
trade routes for a great distance
in search of a little beaver.

I hope this answers all of your questions about trade routes, Beta.

Yours etc.,

Dr. Piton

THANK YOU Oh great one, your big wall skills are only surpassed by your HTML beta. Where are you getting all this stuff? (the smiley invasion). Thanks Pete,

Jeff

(by the way, Yeah, I agree, Austrian rather than German, I didn't edit it but, it should have said "vebbing" NOT "webbing").
