Hello, I will be in Springfield Aug 12-15 and am looking for places to climb. I am going to check out Petra gym but would like to Boulder outside. Are there anyplaces close that would provide this?? Also I might also want to lead or top rope if there are some folks I could meet up with...Would Springfield fall under the SouthWest or South Central region on the routes section????? Jason

If you are going to take the time to go to joplin skip wildcat... the rock quality is poor composed mostly out of chert. go to schermerhorn insteard in sek. way better climbs and better rock quality... i posted it under "the horn " in the route section

Check out Peter's Branch in Sparta. As far as I know, it's the only good local bouldering spot.
