When I was in Huntsville in September my girlfriend and I went out to Monte Sano to climb (she used to climb there in high school). We looked for the wall by the picnic area but could not find it. We ended up going out to O'Shawnasee point. We thought the other area was on the cliff below the tavern ruins. The cliff is overhanging at the top, we got down this part, but could not find a trail to take us furthur down the cliff to where we thought the climbs were. I scrambled down the cliff and found a wall that was very vegetated at the bottom. There appeared to be a scramble to the bottom down some boulders. Is this the place we were looking for? Any info would be helpfull.

Some local climbers went out there a few weeks ago and found some stuff; perhaps it will be developed further in the near future.. There are also some other areas in other parts of the park including one 12.x route, but they are scattered around and not climbed much.. We usually just go to Sandrock (1.5 hrs), the Little River Canyon (1.5 hrs) or Palisades (1 hr). Tim

Thanks for replying. We want to check out Palisades next time we are in town, or go back to Sandrock again. Thanks, Jon
