Hello. Heres the story. (sorry because my bad english) I've started mountaineering this spring. So I'm pretty new to everything related to it. Including equipment. I need harness for via ferrata, snow/ice mountainnering,... After reading few reviews I decided to go with Petzl CORAX. Looking on Petzl sizing chart I decided to go with size 2: Size Weight Waist Size Leg Loop Size (1)XS-L 510 g 60-90 cm 48-58 cm (2)M-XL 600 g 75-105 cm 56-68 cm My waist is 96cm, legs 56cm (yeah, chubby). I decided to go with 2 because 1 seems to be too tight in waist. And I figured that there will be no problems with leg loops because I will wear pants (even thicker in winter). It came today and I realized that I don't even know does it fits me good. I think it is little too big. Since it is important piece of equipment I dont want go out half ready. Please advise me... Here is how it looks: It is very comfortable. Leg loops are at its tightest position (exactly 56cm, as in sizing chart), they seem to fit ok...snug but not tight or restrainig. Waist buckles are on padding, that seems good to me... Another one: How does that look? safe enough? What do you think about waist padding? Is it too close? What if I lose few centimeters in waist...will ti be too big? Few more: And here is my problem! This is where I suspected it was too big. Look what happens with leg loop when I climb (bend my leg): Here it is even more obvious: Even when I just walk. How annoying! So, all in all...how does that look? Will I survive fall? Did I put it on right? Is it too big? Should I exchange it for size 1? If you see anything wrong please say it... Thank you very much for your time.

What's annoying? I don't get it? Also consider a mountaineering harness is intended to be able to be worn over multi-layers of clothing. DMT

looks like it fits fine- the leg loops doing that is normal. however, to find out if a harness fits you properly, you need to hang in it and relax- if you remain upright, the harness fits correctly, if you fall backwards, it doesnt.

See that strap stretched tightly across your ass? Loosen it. The strap, not your ass. Well, either one will do, technically.... DMT

When you fall and hang in it, the leg loop will support your leg fully across the width of the webbing. The harness looks fine. Reattach the elastic from the back of the legs to the back of the harness and use it.

It looks like a perfect fit to me. The leg loops are technically not what are keeping you off the ground. They keep the waist (swami) from sliding up and crushing your ribs. I have climbed with just the swami before when mountaineering. Also as mentioned a mountaineering harness could be more ideal. Do you plan on sitting in your harness a lot, or are you doing more scrambling/hiking? A simple webbing diaper style harness may be more comfortable and practical. look at BD alpine bod or similar harness.

The fit of the harness is fine.
