Thinking of heading to the New area this weekend, would like to avoid Bridge day traffic. So:

What's the story with access at Bozoo - I recollect this was closed at one point recently?

current lake level is 1627 [ vs the 1600 recommended in Williams guide for general summersville access]. Anyone know if climbs at Whippoorwill are accessible?

Thanks

Beagly

You know Bozoo isn't at the New, right?

There might be enough access at Whippoorwill to make it worthwhile for a day. Don't forget the Meadow. It's far removed from the Bridge-Day madness, and there's five and half shit tons of climbing there.

yes, I know Bozoo is not at the New and I have climbed at the Meadow a few times.

However I'm going with someone who hasn't climbed much recently and most of the meadow routes are too hard.

I'd also welcome any views of whether Bozoo is worth the trouble

Bozoo is not closed. The crags are on private property, so please climb respectfully.

It will not be crowded at Bozoo and easy to set topropes. But it is not the New either, much smaller crag. Some great routes though, and plenty of bouldering and trad! (not much for sport routes).

Unless you want to climb those couple of lines in the canyon with the wacky russian angle hangers.
