I don't always check back to every thread I post in so a heads up would be nice if you delete one of my posts. Personally I don't think what I said in the Grade Creep thread was out of line but someone did, apparently. If you expect us to play within the lines, you kind of need to let us know when we cross one.

In reply to: Check your PMS. Take your time, if you wish... Fixied for you. And that sort of posting by a moderator is supposed to help in problem resolution? If mods want respect, bloody well earn it, that sort of crap is just childish.

If mods want respect, bloody well earn it, that sort of crap is just childish. You cyberstalking me Darryl. Step back from the computer, take a deep breath and read the post again. It is supposed to be FUNNY. Trying to lighten the mood here mate. Why oh why is it that mods are to be held to a far higher standard than the ordinary users. Users can blather on about anything and everything, take pot shots at each other, abuse mods with impunity and yet when a mod exhibits any sort of humour then that is jumped on and strictly verbotten. Sheesh gives us a break. Wot, you the new JT512 around here or something.

If there is any kind of "official" decision concerning communications to those whos posts are hidden or recycled, it would be nice if it were openly disclosed. As I said earlier, I don't take issue with the post being hidden, it would just be nice to get a quick PM along the lines of... "_____________ post was removed because it was offensive or inappropriate for a Blue or Black forum." Or something similar.

I recently had to clean up a thread in the lab forum where a lot of posts went into cyberspace. I just left a note in the thread. I reckon that is enough for that action. If a randon post needs to be sent into oblivion then it depends on whether the user is a long time user or a spammer. A long time user ordinarily should have a PM sent and of course a spammer gets their whole account sent to purgatory. It's hard to make a one size fits all rule however communications do need to be had when an action is taken. Hope this helps.

If an entire thread gets trashed or a large number of posts get deleted, an I&A thread that goes off the deep end for example, then it would be impractical to contact everyone.

It all comes down to common sense really. Trying to make things simple and easy so that we can get back to the important things like postcount ++.
