Wandt- "wand" is "wall" in German. However, it is too similar to the English word "wand" as, the long, thin instrument waved about by faeries, so I added the "t" to keep it straight. I got it because I played defense/goal for my school soccer team. My defensive strategy was to backpedal quickly in front of the balll carrier and then stop abruptly. Outweighing most opponents by 50+ lbs (I've shed a few since then), the poor offensive player wound up lying down. In goal I had a habit of stopping ballls with my face. Repeatedly. On the same play.

In the gym I'm just called "sir". Heh heh.

My Dad's old partner was nicknamed oops. If he kicked a rock down he'd yell opps and not ROCK. Also he dropped my Dad 30 feet while toproping.

Back in school I had the name "Chiefy" for a while from a stupid prank. But more recently my climbing friends call me simply 'Tall Bastard'. I don't know why, I'm only 6 4" and can just start routs they have to boulder to.

"Dad."

As in, "...I need some money for..."

"Sweetheart."

As in, "...I thought you already *had* one of those things..."

Well I got stuck with the infamous "Sponge" I don't really know how it came around, but it stuck.
Then there's "screamer" that describes itself.
And thanks to my partner, he calls me a "preppy climber" noting that i have a preference of rock type to climb...
"I only said I didn't like Bousherie cause the rock is too grainy!!!!!!!! I never said I wouldn't climb it!!!"

I know that I'm not that good in the grand scheme of things, but my friends call me "Ropegun." I have much less fear, and am willing to push my limits so I've progressed faster and lead 1-2 grades harder than those who taught me to climb. It boosts the ego (for better or for worse).

My first time learning to belay, I belayed a friend (who is which at this time still a friend and one of my best climbing buds) on belay. I let him fall probably a dozen or so feet before I figured out how to stop him. My name by him is now 'Freefall' and forever will be Thanks Bri

I was known as "Drop" for about two years.

Because I fall a lot. I mean, A LOT.

Still do.

No one calls me that anymore, though.
