DDT granted, my tone is a little flippant, but it WAS meant as feedback. somewhat more seriously articulated: - calling people's posts or their lack of understanding, or even them personally stupid is not an ad hominem attack - i think it's perfectly good forum behavior, especially when the idea in question is blatantly unsafe - i think people gang up on JT, who is mostly right, and mostly only calls stupid people stupid.

Sure, people misrepresented some things others have said as "ad hominem attacks." Doesn't matter that they weren't ad hominem attacks, as they're still easily on the line between discourse and "No personal attacks"--the #1 rule listed. Sure, "shut the fuck up" may not be a personal attack. Yet, plenty of other things that are said do constitute personal attacks. Such as me telling everyone that sungam sucks (my sig).
