So, talking to a German guy at the gym last night. He mentioned that he had done a bit of biathlon back home, which has always sounded really cool. Guns and xc skis, hell yeah. If it's good enough for the James Bond villain in "For Your Eyes Only," it's got to be awesome. Then, he mentioned that Biathletes train in the summer by doing high intensity bike rides with their guns, and then target shooting. I guess it is really hard to shoot accurately when your heartrate is way up and you're tired.

Then I realized the next step in this:

El Cap speed climbing Biathlon. You have to do the Nose, but at the top of every pitch, you have to pull out the high-powered sniper rifle and shoot a gawker down in El Cap Meadow. Extra points for Japanese tourists, since they're smaller than Americans. You could do just speed ascent, or, you know, someone like Honnold or Caldwell could incorporate it into free ascents for added style.

I'm throwing the gauntlet down, Hans Fluoride!

you're going to take on Hans? do you even know how to AIDS climb?

I just bought all the AIDs gearz I mentioned in grupe for $320.

still need to figure out what I'm ever going to do with my aiders, haulbag, and portaledge. Maybe multipitch-style The Return of Chris Snyder and throw water balloons at people below.
I want to set up a portaledge between the two trade routes in connecticut (hahahhahahhahahahahahhahahah...trade routes in connecticut) on a friday night, and haul up a quarter keg. Then, when the hordes of top roping imbeciles arrive on the nice september saturday, I can mock them while getting smammered on my portaledge in between the routes.

I've probably mentioned this in here, since I only have like three witty anecdotes that I repeat, but evil camhead and I had a plot years ago in which we would set up right below the Supercrack anchors with a portaledge, water balloons, pirate costumes, and maybe a yapping chihuahua and/or fucking pomeranian with fucking papers.

We would throw stuff at people who came by Supercrack, yell "yargh, ye wo;t be climbing the splitters today, matey!" and eventually jug up fixed lines to the cliff tops so that we wouldn't get our asses kicked.

Still need to do that, although pirates are a bit more cliché than they were five years ago. Maybe Vikings instead.

Do you mean a good hard climb, or a good one-two that is easy for the grade and will only cheat yourself?

-Twinkie is the must if you want an enduro jughaul.
-Any of the 12a/b's at the Solarium are really good.
-Hardcore Jollies is a good v4 boulder problem to techy 11-ish climbing
-Supafly at Solar Collector
-Check Your Grip at Drive-by is good if you like slopers

I've still never been over to Hippocrite/Scar Tissue area (they're on the Lena/Drivel veto list). If you can do Mercy the Huff, you can do Twinkie. Sex Farm is really good, a lot of powerful slopers with feet in the wrong place. Or, train your power in the next three weeks and get on Infectious again.

Who all is coming down this year? You, Doc, Kate, pineapple girl? Biner (heh, just kidding, I know she would bail)?

We're trying to find a dog sitter for pineapple girl's dog. I'm trying to get my unemployed bum of a sister to do it, but negotiations have stalled.

hmm then Mercy might not work.. twinkie kicked my ass.

Doc Hippocrite might be ok for you.. it's longish moves on big holds with a big deadpoint from an undercling. but it's only 4 bolts. Red river rumney!

Scar tissue looks cool too. only 5 bolts of pockets. Why is it on the Lena/dribble no go area?? there are other easier routes on that wall too. sounds like a destination for our varied crew

My wasabis came back from the resoler, and they are good to go. I also ordered the gnu guidebook (july 2010 edition, yo!)

Twinkie is not on the list this year.. i gave it a go last year and i don't have the enduro for that shit. i need another wall like Left flank bouldery pockets then plates ;) maybe give a go at mercy the huff, hippocrite, sex farm?

I've still never been over to Hippocrite/Scar Tissue area (they're on the Lena/Drivel veto list). If you can do Mercy the Huff, you can do Twinkie. Sex Farm is really good, a lot of powerful slopers with feet in the wrong place. Or, train your power in the next three weeks and get on Infectious again.

Who all is coming down this year? You, Doc, Kate, pineapple girl? Biner (heh, just kidding, I know she would bail)?

hmm then Mercy might not work.. twinkie kicked my ass.

I like big holds.

My wasabis came back from the resoler, and they are good to go. I also ordered the gnu guidebook (july 2010 edition, yo!)

nice.. those were getting a bit fucked. You could give Ro another shot... whilst hanging the draws for me Cool

Maybe multipitch-style The Return of Chris Snyder and throw water balloons at people below.

would that be a good won two once i zend the doucheampo?

Do you mean a good hard climb, or a good one-two that is easy for the grade and will only cheat yourself?

-Twinkie is the must if you want an enduro jughaul.
-Any of the 12a/b's at the Solarium are really good.
-Hardcore Jollies is a good v4 boulder problem to techy 11-ish climbing
-Supafly at Solar Collector

I want to set up a portaledge between the two trade routes in connecticut (hahahhahahhahahahahahhahahah...trade routes in connecticut) on a friday night, and haul up a quarter keg. Then, when the hordes of top roping imbeciles arrive on the nice september saturday, I can mock them while getting smammered on my portaledge in between the routes.

Better would be to haul up a canoe and do the same thing.

my partner works at a gear store, and gets all sorts of prodeals and stuff. The job is a net income loss for him, as it is for most people.
He sold me a softshell today for $60. I think I made out like a thief...
