I am thinking about getting a pair of Five Ten 5Xs. However, I am concerned about the zipper being on top of my foot when jamming- does anyone have experience with any zippered shoe in hand cracks? It seems that the zipper might place unwanted pressure on top of the foot when shoved into larger cracks. Other than that they seem like a great shoe. Moccs with an Anasazi heel.

Not sure how your foot is formed, but if a crack is wide enough to put my foot in deep enough for the zipper to also be in the crack, then it is wide enough for my foot to be in a more horizontal (flat footed) position. In other words, I don't think you will ever find yourself putting pressure on the zipper.

After looking at pictures of the 5X I don't think you'll have a problem on hand cracks.

Zippers have a history of inflicting pain on crack climbers, but these don't look terribly obtrusive. Interesting, sort of a Velcro Mocc. I might have to try these things out.

I love my 5Xs, but at least with the way mine are sized I wouldn't go near a crack in them. I think my toes would kill me. The 5Xs are definitely shaped so they're most comfortable with your toes curled, so if you're doing thin cracks I don't know if I would go for them. I do love them for face features though, they're super comfy and moderately aggressive.
