Hello. I've been practicing aid with my climbing partner and we certainly have enough gear to get up a wall, however, we don't have any offsets in anything. We have 2 of each link cam .5 - 2 which can do offset placements, but nothing in terms of stoppers of micros. We are planning a trip to Zion and want to do Spaceshot and Moonlight(given we finish spaceshot in good time). My question is how important are the offsets for Spaceshot?!?! It's only C2 so I don't really know if we could get away with no offsets. All the guide books and beta say they are "useful" but is that really just useful or more like necessary?? If we do need offsets which are most important and what is the minimum we could get away with?? Any advice?!?! Thank you.

I did Spaceshot without using many offset cams but I did use a bunch of offset nuts. There really isn't much trickery on either one of those routes, so don't sweat it too much.

Awesome good to know. Did you use more DMM alloy offsets or micro brass offsets for nuts?? And how many if you could?!?!

I'm certainly not an aid expert, but getting up most any clean route above C1 is made much more efficient with a some offset small nuts. Can you do without...certainly. But you will eventually be slowed down by your lack of them.
